Since I received your letter I have corresponded with some New York newspaper men about the Memorial, & sent them the documents., asking them to write editorials. In reply, theyⒶemendation

MS, draft, CSmH. The draft letter is on the verso of page 249 of the MS of The Prince and the Pauper, because Clemens reused the sheet when writing that book. The letter actually sent, if any, is not known to survive.
