Dear Charley—

It is dismal news. We had the impression that Annie & the children were to leave for some country place the moment the summer (June) should begin. It seems a very severe attack, but I hope you & Annie are in better hopes & spirits by this time.

We are all about well, here. I wrote Osgood a day or two ago suggesting that he buy a block of K stock—don’t know what he will think of the idea; but I think the Boston branch ought to own, not rent.
