Dear Charley—

The “Rose Publishing Co.” of Toronto, applied to me by letter, yesterday or the day before yesterday, in Toronto, offering to buy the Canadian right to publish “Huckleberry Finn.” If I were you I would send them an answer—provided they did not pirate The Prince & Pauper; but if they did, take no notice of them.

Truly Yours
S L Clemens

This letter was returned from Montreal, I don’t know as it [is] any use now but I send it
