Livy darling, do you mean that an invitation to me has lately emanated from thosee Union for Home Work ladies? If so, I have not heard of it. If a reading by me is really in contemplation, I hope the date will be set for some time in the first fortnight of March, so that I shall still be “fresh” & not have to use a book.

Have the ladies written me? Or have they sent me an invitation through you? I have not received any invitation through either channel. Yet you have twice spoken as if something of the sort had been done.

Goodbye sweetheart, I must not write. Shall require all the life I can pump up for tonight.
