Du Buque, Friday.
Livy darling, we are still plowing along toward St. Paul. Shall reach there tomorrowⒶemendation midnight I judge. Osgood went to Chicago from St Louis, & caught the boat again last night at Davenport. Got your telegram. Was kept on the bounce all the time, in Hannibal; so I wrote only once from there, but I believe I telegraphed you, every day. I wish you could see this river—but you would detest the steamboat travel. Always I love you my darling.
