Dr Sir—

Just back from New York. I have a letter from you (with insurance estimates) end of June, reminding me of the $150, which I immediately answered, & supposed I enclosed the check of which the enclosed is the stub. You wrote me 7 days later, about interest deposits (at (date July 7 6) reminding me again, but I judged you had received the check by that time. I enclose another check, now, for $150. Pleaseemendation inquire at the bank what ever became of the former check. I have a great dread on my soul that you collected it while in a state of hot Scotch whisky, & then forgot all about it. I know all how that is, by experience.

All well here & send love to the Perkinses.
