The postmark (ju 2 73) provides the sole evidence for the date of this postcard, which Clemens evidently sent just to apprise Lee of his return to London.
Emendations and Textual Notes
MS, Clifton Waller Barrett Library, University of Virginia, Charlottesville (ViU). The letter was written on a halfpenny postcard identical to the one described in the commentary for 4 Oct 72 to Lee.
