Livy darling, I will make a whole lot of excuses & explanations as soon as ever I get home, for staying away the extra day or two. I leave for Montreal today, & shall have to spend the night there; but there is a train from there early tomorrow morning which will fetch me home to Hartford about 8 or 8. 30 in the evening.
I thought I would write this final note because maybe it will beat me home.
And I’ll be willing to sleep a while when I get there, for I haven’t led such a physically active life these many years as this welek has been.
But I love you sweetheart & I want to kiss the chicks—including your grave assistant, Susie—“I got to.”
A quill is a superior pen.
