My Dear Millets:

The Clemenses congratulate you heartily, notwithstanding their irritating disappointment—they were hoping it was going to be triplets. However I trust in God it will be made up to you next time. So for me, I am thankful to him for what little he has emendation done for you considering how this world is given to miscarriages. May the child flourish &emendation prosper &emendation be as honest &emendation gentle as Susie &emendation as fascinatingly unprincipled as the Bay—now I couldn’t ask anything finer than that. With the warmest good wishes for you &emendation Madame mere &emendation the baby.

Yours ever,
Mark.
